🌈 RevCon 2026☄️ An Open Space (un)Conference on Revolution
About
The Revolution School, in partnership with LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions), invites you to 🌈 RevCon ☄️: a dedicated con for all things revolution and revolutionary, im/possible, and fantastical, harkening back to the ambitions of the Revolution People’s Constitutional Convention, organized by the Black Panther Party in 1970! In this inaugural RevCon 2026, the theme we will be engaging with is “liberation for ALL!”
When we say “liberation for ALL,” we mean ALL: all humans (including the people you or others don’t consider “human”), more-than-humans, animals, plants, organisms, land, water, minerals, spirits, ancestors, planets, stars, machines, objects, concepts, beliefs, representations, methodologies, systems, emotions, desires, fears, traumas, dreams, actions, institutions, infrastructures, resources, communities, relationships, etc., etc.—ALL.
In our increasingly polarizing world constituted by hierarchies and driven by capital—where the liberation of a people or nation is contingent on the conquering, expelling, or annihilation of another people, where collective actions break down because of competing individual needs with unequal access to resources, where love is built on exclusions and breakups mean picking sides—revolutions for the liberation of ALL are a BIG ask indeed!
As RevCon 2026’s rallying call, a commitment to or devotional practice of liberation for ALL can become:
a prompt to always ask who and what is present
a drive to approach differences, contradictions, and conflicts as entanglements to question naturalized beliefs
an opening for the unknowable, the im/possible, and the emergent
And there’s a twist! Unlike traditional conferences with invited speakers and pre-determined topics within a fixed schedule, RevCon invites participants to co-create the event in real time by using Open Space Technology (OST), a fluid, decentralized, nonhierarchical model, to host an unconventional, entirely participant-driven, and highly emergent (un)conference! Throughout the day, anyone present can facilitate a session, participate in another’s, or ask to learn something specific as an invitation for others to step into and share their learnings and experiences while moving freely between sessions. Together, we share the responsibility of suggesting topics, posing questions, facilitating activities, and participating in discussions.
Revolution and liberation for ALL is required in ALL areas of life so no matter how inconsequential, im/possible, raw, or seasoned you think your interests and contributions are, they are welcomed and necessary! You can come prepared with a session in mind to facilitate but be open to it changing! If you’re still unsure how open spaces work, come to the Meet & Greet to learn more, make connections, and stimulate your revolutionary ideas and liberatory actions!
Revolution for the liberation of ALL will happen when we co-world it TOGETHER! 🐣🌱💞

A con committed to revolution and liberation for ALL wouldn’t be as impactful if it largely remained in the con. Following a lively day of revolutionary connections, ideas, and plans, you are invited to a pancake brunch Sunday morning in our temporary WeHo home base to discuss next steps in realizing liberation for ALL—until the next RevCon (yes, there will be another one next year!). No pressure though, your next steps could simply be contemplating, dreaming, and connecting with friends in revolution while enjoying a Sunday poolside with some live music and maybe a karaoke song or two 😎
There’s a small pool! 💦👙🩳🩱🫧
Live music and karaoke 🎹🎷🎤🎶
❣️ All offerings are FREE to attend. WeHo locales shared with RSVP—all close proximity to Plummer Park.

RevCon is free and open to the public, but since Saturday lunch will be catered by the Peoples Café and we'll be making Sunday brunch together, it will really help us to have an approximate headcount. So we really hope you'll register and (on the next page) tell us which days you're planning to join us in West Hollywood.

LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions) champions artists, curators, and cultural workers who explore and defy boundaries through socially-engaged projects. We provide platforms within and beyond our space for diverse communities to connect deeply with challenging contemporary art.

This program is supported in part by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood.
This project is made possible with the support of the Jacki Apple Fund, a legacy established by her sister and close collaborators to give back to the Los Angeles Art Community she championed since the early 80’s in her writing, teaching, radio shows and artist practice. This grant is administered by LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions).
